Usain Bolt advertises for BSW
Bolt brokes two worls records on the blue Regupol running track
At this year's Athletic World Championships in Berlin, Bolt broke an amazing two world records on the blue Regupol running track made by BSW, and is thrilled with his new role: "I love Regupol tracks.They are fast, they feel the same everywhere on the track and they have no joints". Bolt's good experience with the synthetic track in Berlin tipped the scales in favour of the advertising contract, according to Peter Breuer, Export Manager at BSW.
The friendly contact with BSW quickly resulted in an uncomplicated advertising partnership. For BSW, the contract is the crowning glory to the success enjoyed by the company with the blue track in Berlin. Two sprint world records by Usain Bolt and a large number of personal, national, annual and championship records, including the 10,000 m distance by the Ethiopian Kenenisa Bekele, are just some of the convincing arguments in favour of the excellent physical sporting properties of BSW's "high-tech" track. Glenn Mills, who coaches Usain Bolt, is also full of praise: "He told me that Berlin was the first time that none of his protégés had complained about the track", says Breuer.
Ideal training conditions with Regupol tartan tracks
To provide Usain Bolt and his Jamaican team colleagues with ideal conditions to prepare for upcoming events, as from next year they will be training on a Regupol tartan track. BSW is going to install an IAAF-certified 400 m competition track on Bolt's training facility at the campus of UWI University Mona, Jamaica. The company has been supplying and installing synthetic running tracks for professional and popular sport for nearly forty years, but this is a particularly exciting, prestigious project, according to Breuer.
In contrast to many other sports floors, Regupol tartan tracks by BSW convince users with their long service life. Once installed, not even high humidity, heat or cold can cause any great damage. Just one important argument for installing this kind of track in Jamaica's tropical climate. The track will be fitted on site by trained BSW staff from Germany. Installation and subsequent certification of the running track according to the IAAF criteria will probably be concluded by February 2010, so that Bolt and his team colleagues can really get going at the start of the new training year. Poor training conditions on grass surfaces and worn running tracks will then be a thing of the past.
