New protective layer under solar systems on flat roofs
New product: Regupol resist solar
The product is called “Regupol resist solar”, and consists of a rub-ber-polyurethane compound and an underside aluminium lining. The mats are 6 mm thick and are extremely resistant to impacts, pressure and scratches. They are therefore resistant to damage from the support fittings of the solar modules and protect the roof sealing. The aluminium lining on the underside prevents migration of softeners in case of PVC sealing.
Regupol resist solar also protects roof and solar systems by reduc-ing fire risks posed by flying sparks and radiated heat. The rubber material comprising the protective layer is therefore classified as “hard roofing” to Broof (t1). The non-slip upper surface of the protec-tive layer offers a firm footing for the photovoltaic modules. BSW already supplies this protective material to many well-known manu-facturers of PV systems, and with Regupol resist solar now offers a product which is optimised in terms of softener migration and fire protection.
In addition to Regupol resist solar, the BSW range also includes the elastic Regupol roof and paving tiles. These tiles can be quickly laid on flat roofs, and serve as maintenance gangways between the solar modules. They are also flame-resistant, and their elastic consistency prevents damage to the roof sealing, in contrast to concrete slabs. Thanks to their relatively light weight, they are easy to lay. The connection of the tiles by dowels produces a reliably fitted surface.
